SUMMER 2013 CALLIGRAPHY CLASSES WITH ANNIE BARNHARDT

UNCIAL
Learn this early book hand from the 4th-6th centuries; discover the secret of Celtic knot work and create a finished product.
4 sessions: Wednesdays, 12:30-2 p.m. on June 19th and 26th and July 3rd and 10th
$40 includes all basic supplies (workbook, practice paper, metal nib and holder, writing fluid)
CAROLINGIAN
Learn this 8th-century style of writing designed during the reign of Charlemagne; add your lettering to a simple book structure.
4 sessions: Wednesdays, 12:30-2 p.m. on July 24th and 31st and August 7th and 14th
$40 includes all basic supplies (see above)
FOUNDATIONAL
Also called Humanist Book Hand, this style of lettering was the basis of early type design. Roman capitals will be introduced, and the class includes the layout and lettering of a text or poem of your choice.
8 sessions: Saturdays, 10-11:30 a.m. on June 22nd and 29th, July 6th, 13, 20, and 27th, and August 3rd and 10th
$80 includes all basic supplies (see above)

OIL PAINTING CLASSES WITH LARRY NEY II

Moose Exchange artist/tenant Larry Ney II offers private lessons in abstract impressionistic oil painting for one to two students at a time in his studio on the second floor of the Exchange.

A painter for 25 years, vice president of North Mountain Art League and a member of Susquehanna River Arts, Larry works primarily in oil focusing on abstract/impressionistic landscapes and florals. His work can be seen at the Exchange, various local venues and at www.larryney.etsy.com Thirty dollars per hour includes all materials and instruction.
