Coming in March: “Healing”
The Exchange Gallery will accept works in all media and by artists of all ages and levels of experience exploring the theme “Healing”, to be shown concurrently with the exhibition “Healing Through the Arts” presented at The Exchange Gallery by The Women’s Center, Inc., of Bloomsburg.
The show will run from the 2nd of March through the 21st of April, 2017, with a reception on Saturday, the 4th of March, 6-8 p.m. (simultaneous with the Artspace Gallery’s reception for “Opposites Attract” — new work by Sara Baker and Marcie Schwartzman).
Following the reception, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble will present the trunk show “Dear Diary — 4 actors perform the best of your childhood writing” at 8:30 p.m. in The Exchange Gallery; tickets $10, light refreshments included.
Artists: We will accept your artwork starting February 21st, up through the deadline on Saturday, February 25th, when we will have the Gallery open 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Questions? Please call 570-317-2596 or e-mail Exchange@ExchangeArts.org.
Coming in April: “Eco-Art”
What do you think about when you hear the words “the environment”? Purple mountains majesty? Climate change? Recycling? The Exchange Gallery, in cooperation with Bloomsburg University’s Green Campus Initiative, calls you to make art about the glories of nature, or concerns you have about our Earth and the way we treat it. All interpretations and all media accepted. This exhibition is open to all artists regardless of level of experience and abilities.
The show will run from the 24th of April through the 26th of May, 2017, with a reception on Saturday, the 6th of May, 6-8 p.m. (simultaneous with the Artspace Gallery’s reception for “Painting Invisible People”, work by Mary Lapos).
As part of the exhibition, we will host work by B.U. students from their on-campus Eco-Art competition.
Artists: We will accept your artwork starting April 17th, up through the deadline on Saturday, April 22nd — Earth Day! — when we will have the Gallery open 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Questions? Please call 570-317-2596 or e-mail Exchange@ExchangeArts.org.
