Now in the Gallery: The Blues Show

In conjunction with the fourth annual Destination Blues Music Festival, taking place in Columbia and Montour Counties February 17-19, 2017, the Stairwell Gallery hosts “The Blues Show”.

We solicited work in any medium — 2-D or 3-D — that fits the Blues/blue theme: paintings of Blues musicians performing, photographs in many shades of the color blue, an artwork about having the blues, a cigar-box guitar, a handwoven rug, quilts, and anything else that says “Blues” or “blue” to you. More than 60 artists responded, with more than 110 pieces — making for a phenomenal exhibition.

The show runs through February 24th, 2017, with the reception on Friday, February 17th, 5-9 p.m., simultaneous with the opening night of Destination Blues. Mime Tribe will play live music in the Gallery, 6-8 p.m. We will also open the next day, Saturday the 18th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while music plays in other venues on Main Street (Sweeney & Rosencrans at Fog & Flame, 9:30-noon, Miss Melanie and the Valley Rats at Balzano’s, noon-2:30).
