Free Comic Book Day

Come join all the fun at the Legendary Comics and Tea Room’s first Free Comic Book Day! On Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., there will be free comic books, free bowling, light refreshments, tea samples, prizes and 10% OFF all purchases. All are welcome!

“Rising Above” in the Stairwell Gallery

Now in the Stairwell Gallery, “Rising Above,” an exhibition of art that speaks out against violence. The exhibition is hosted by the Women’s Center Inc. of Columbia/Montour counties in collaboration with many local individuals, schools, and non-profit agencies.

Renaissance Jamboree April 28th

Algars Concert this Friday, April 20th

The Big Dirty and Janelle Vibes will be performing live in the Grille Room on Friday, April 20th, brought to you by Algars Music Venue. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $10, BYOB.

PADME 2012 is coming April 26th

Personal Adornment Day & Makeup Extravaganza 8 will be held on Thursday, April 26th. This event kicks off with a lecture and workshop led by Jan Myers-Newbury, and ends with a runway show at the Exchange from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Art21 Final Screening in Gallery 102 Rescheduled

Episode 4, Balance, originally scheduled for Thursday, May 10, at 7 pm is being rescheduled. Gallery 102 in the Moose Exchange, in partnership with Art21 as part of its Access ’12 initiative, presents all four episodes of the sixth season of Art in the Twenty-First Century, the only prime time national television series focused exclusively on contemporary art. Two thematic episodes, Change and Boundaries, will be screened on Saturday, April 21 and the final two episodes, History and Balance will be shown Sunday, April 22, at 7 pm in the Gallery. These events are free and open to the public. Additional screenings of individual episodes on April 19, 26, May 3 and a fourth date to be determined at 7 pm. This event is part of Art21 Access ’12, a celebration of contemporary art and Art in the Twenty-First Century, Season Six, sponsored by Art21.
